Open road ahead for 2018 ! – Les Mées, France – even a dark overcast day can lead to interesting shots 😉

Apple orchards in the Durance valley – Les Mées, France – due to frequent late summer hailstorms, apple farmers stretch nets over the landscape we see now folded after the harvest.

Milky way setting over the Crétes de Combe la Rroche – Brunissard, France – Thisi is my second real attempt at shooting the milky way on this trip. The first night I had forgotten to set the manual focus before dark, so all the pictures came out blurry…oops! This one is better.

Dawn over solar panel fields – Les Mées, France – The largest photo-voltaic park in France is just a few KM up the hill from this small provençal village. Sustainability is good, however these glass panels now replace much of the famous (and beautiful) lavender fields of this township’s countryside.

Turning weather – Les Mées, France – It’s funny how you can visit a place dozens of times and yet it changes.The light, The weather and even the photographer’s state of mind come into play. With the winter sun to my back lighting golden reeds and some dark clouds blowing in over the landscape, the visit to this little lake pays off again.

Spring tulips

inspecting the tulips– Lurs, France – I will be posting a Tulip mini-series over the next few days. This was such a pleasant find. I’m not much of a flower photographer, but the graphic possibiities were stunning. Hopefully it will show.

Snowy Paris

Sidelined boats – Paris, France – Unable to navigate under the city’s bridges, the usually busy boats are forced to collect snow on their bows. Pile on the fact that the quays are flooded difficulting acces to them, makes the owners doubly frustrated.

Topiaries – Paris, France – The Tuieries – Snow is relatively unusual in Paris. It’s so interesting to see the city and its monuments blanketed in white.

No tennis today – Paris, France – At the Luxembourg Gardens, tennis courts are available to the public upon reservation, but on days like this , you need to bring a shovel in your racket bag.

From the Concorde to the Louvre – Paris, France – The sound of snow crunching under your shoes is the perfect soundtrack for the muffled sounds of a snowy day.

Sinlence over the Opera Garnier – Paris, France – usually we can see its beautifully gilded angels glistening in the sun. Today, the hard snowfall gives the opera a cover of silence.
